We hope you find everything you need in this manual. If you have any questions during your stay, or are in doubt about anything, don't hesitate to contact us. We're always happy to help.
Shride Barn is our private property where we also reside. A great deal of care and attention goes into maintaining the space, the environment, and making it beautiful for us and for you. We appreciate you treating our grounds and space with the same care. Our intention is to create an oasis for peace and wellbeing, and an intimate hosting experience. We will be around during your stay, in the Barn on the other side.
We operate outside quiet hours from 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Please keep noise to a minimum, inside and out, during these times.
When cooking or using the bathroom, please always switch on the fan with the large white button outside the bathroom on the right hand side, and the extractor fan above the hob when cooking.
Feel free to use it. We provide a selection of coffee pods in the cupboard right above the machine, as well as teas. There is fresh filtered water in the fridge to fill up the coffee maker.
Please wash wooden cooking utensils and cutting boards by hand — not in the dishwasher.
You are welcome to enjoy the side garden, where you'll find fruit trees, a table, chairs and space to relax. Please note that the greenhouse, raised beds and back garden area are private.
Always shower before use. The hot tub runs on solar power and is warm and ready to use from 10am to 9pm.
We want you to have an enjoyable and relaxing time, but your safety is our top priority. Please take note of the following:
The hot tub is available for use at your own risk. Please ensure you are comfortable with the use of the facility and take the necessary precautions. By using the hot tub you agree to do so responsibly and to follow all safety guidelines. If you have any questions or need assistance, just reach out.
To maintain optimal pH conditions and hygiene we use chemicals to keep it in top condition. We will do this discreetly during your stay, if needed.
There are wooden planks and a wooden chair inside the shower unit. These are designed for use in the shower — no need to remove them or take them out.
Always shower before use, and use a towel to sit on. We provide additional smaller sauna towels. Once the sauna is warmed up (around 15 minutes) you can enjoy your session.
After use, remember to turn off the red main switch outside the bathroom door.
There is a switch close to the ground underneath the red switch. This is the towel heater. Please switch it off when you have finished using the facilities.
On days when the temperature goes above 30°C it can get quite warm. Here's a tip that has worked well for us: open the windows on both sides to create air circulation. Open the doors downstairs too, and make use of the air conditioning unit and the fan upstairs.
Please remember you're in the countryside — don't leave windows or doors wide open at night with the lights on.
If you break anything, or notice anything that needs repairing, just let us know. It's not a problem, and it helps us tremendously to keep the place in good shape.
If you could leave your rubbish and recycling outside the main door for us to pick up after you leave, that would be a huge help.
Hope you enjoy your stay.
Your creative escape awaits. Everything for your stay, gathered in one calm place.
New dates and seasons to come. Quiet rooms to make things slowly, and to leave the rest behind for a while.
Offered, never pushed. A few quiet comforts for your time here.
We're looking forward to having you.
Everything is confirmed and there's nothing else you need to do. If you'd like, you can add a few quiet comforts to your stay — and you can always do it later.
